The Breath
A trust exercise with the Universe. Or God. Whatever your personal higher power may be. And you have been breathing since birth. If you can, keep your mouth closed while breathing.
And your respiratory system is working to alternate on it’s own every 90 seconds or two minutes or so. When you force it through alternative nostril breathing I recommend always starting any Breathwork practice with two full exhales and clearing inhales.
When you alternate nostril breathe, start by exhaling out through your left nostril by manually plugging your right nostril with a finger from the outside of your perfectly sized nose.
And then switch and close the left nostril, inhale through the right nostril and/or perfectly sized right side of your face cartiledge that grows until the day you die. Neat.
But stay plugged on the left and then push all the air out of the right nostril. And then switch the finger to plug the right side and inhale through the left.
Keep this repetition until -
See? That’s the kicker about breath work. It’s just you paying attention. And a lot of attention on only the breath. Until. You’re done or you get distracted and still your respiratory system is one of those automatic ones so as long as you can keep pushing all that air out. You’ll keep receiving a perfect amount of oxygen maybe depending on your body and where you live too.
Because your lungs live in your chest and did you know that when you take a really, really big inhale your lungs inflate around your heart muscle. Your body gives itself a hug from the inside with every deep breath in. And still you get to keep pushing all that carbon DiOxide out and keep feeding all those those trees.
